Routes I ride
Windsor Bun Run
A wonderfully flat and fast route to one of Britains worst kept secrets. The Cinnamon Bun cafe is pretty much the only reason cyclists head out here, among the glorious views.

Secret facts about the route:

It's much more fun in a group going fast, because you can keep the average speed high. Make sure you're in a considerate group who will point out the craters, to avoid punctures/bike damage and the rattling of your brain.

Spokes Cafe
My favourite local route.
A beautiful, slightly north ride with some rolling hills, a few small 'climbs' and quiet enough roads to head out in a group for chain-gang. Spokes Cafe is about half way and along with being home to a fabulous bike workshop, they provide some of the best coffee and homemade cake around.

Secret facts about the route:

Some of the roads are a bit busy, but the surfaces are pretty good. It's about 25minutes out of Barnet before you hit the quieter, scenic roads.

Macclesfield Forest
A wonderfully hilly and scenic route, involving some of Britains most wonderful (awful) climbs.
With beautiful cafe's splattered around the route, providing fantastic cakes for refuelling.

Secret facts about the route:

It's much more fun in a group slogging up the climbs, you can suffer together while enjoying the view. Make sure you're in a considerate group who will point out the holes and sketchy corners on the descents. It also helps if they can corner, so you can follow their line!
